Moore Town Primary & Junior High School
...Educating for life
Moore Town Primary and Junior High School was established in 1953 as an All Age school and was later changed to a Primary and Junior High in 1995. It is a co-educational school located in the deep rural Maroon community of Moore Town in the parish of Portland. The
monument of Nanny of the Maroons is erected across the road at the front of the school. The junior high section of the school consists of boys only. The students are from Moore Town and adjoining communities. These are farming communities, where the residents still uphold the traditional values inherited from their ancestors.
